CHICAGO, IL – Congressman Jonathan L. Jackson is inviting high school students from Illinois's First Congressional District to participate in a nationwide art competition sponsored by Members of the U.S. House of Representatives in collaboration with the Congressional Institute. The annual competition aims to recognize and encourage the artistic talent of young people across the nation.
Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Jonathan Jackson (D-IL) announced his appointment as Co-Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) Housing and Economic Prosperity Task Force. The task force will focus on addressing the significant housing and economic disparities impacting African American communities nationwide, with an emphasis on urban centers such as Chicago.

CSU Quantum Readiness and Cyberinfrastructure Improvement Program
In today's House Foreign Affairs Committee markup, Congressman Jonathan Jackson passionately spoke in favor of H.R. 1684. This essential legislation is a crucial step in addressing corruption in Haiti, as it requires the Secretary of State to submit an annual report on the connections between criminal gangs and political or economic elites in the country. Additionally, the bill imposes sanctions on those involved in these nefarious activities.

This event commemorated Women's History Month and highlighted the crucial contributions of Black women in drafting, advancing, and organizing the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) in the U.S. Constitution and state-level ERA's.
