I was honored to speak at the Korean Church Coalition (KCC) to shed light on the human rights abuses in North Korea. I was proud to stand in solidarity not only with the KCC but also with The Committee for Human Rights in North Korea, the North Korea Freedom Coalition, North Korean refugee and defector Timothy Cho, the Co-Secretariat for the United Kingdom All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on North Korea as well as many other VIP’s.
A special screening of “Major Taylor: Champion of the Race” was held on Capitol Hill. The documentary retraces the life and legacy of an American civil rights pioneer who set more than 20 world records in speed cycling during the heart of Jim Crow America. By the time he was in his early 20s, Major Taylor had captured the world cycling championship, the American cycling crown, and had set dozens of world speed cycling records – all while having to endure withering racial pressures. See a sneak peek here.
