This project would be a good use of taxpayer funds because it would unlock significant economic potential by increasing the involvement of small businesses throughout the Southside Chicago area and result in improved public transit spaces. Cultural Center Initiative, Hamilton Park
Funding would be used for lighting and sound system enhancements, stage modifications, restoration, and ADA accessibility. Pace Pulse Bus Queue Jump for 95th St & Western Avenue
Funding would be used for the design and construction of a "queue jump" for buses at 95th Street and Western Avenue. This intersection improvement is a short bus-only lane at the intersection, which allows buses to bypass traffic when a light turns from red to green, thereby reducing travel times for riders. The funding would be used to purchase new body worn cameras and in squad car video camera systems for the village’s police department. Community Centered Security Measures for Chicago State University Police Department
The funding would be used to purchase new security equipment including “Code Blue” units, exterior and interior security cameras, and dispatch equipment. These items will improve the efficacy of university law enforcement and allow them to cooperate with city and state police departments in real time when security threats and emergencies arise.
