CONGRESSMAN JONATHAN L. JACKSON INTRODUCES WAR POWERS RESOLUTION TO END ILLEGAL WAR IN IRAN

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Jonathan L. Jackson (IL-01), Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the Congressional Progressive Caucus introduced a War Powers Resolution.

“The same forces that use taxpayer dollars to perpetuate war are increasing poverty and inequality at home.  Every day that this illegal war-of-choice, with no goals or exit strategy, continues, countless people are suffering at home and around the world.

Congress must fulfill its oath to uphold the constitution and that is why I introduced this War Powers Resolution. Congress must be the critical check required to reign in this administration's abuse of power.

History will remember the choices we make, and lives lost cannot be brought back. I appeal to our shared humanity and urge my colleagues to pass the War Powers Resolution.”
